Gallery Three - MEXICAN COPPER
ART
Michoacan is the land of the Purepucha Indians, one of the two
tribes that were never defeated by the Aztecs. Why? Because
they had copper; thus, superior weapons of war. Today, all Mexican
copper comes from Santa Clara de Cobre. It is no longer mined
in Michoacan, but the coppersmiths are here, literally hundreds.
Showcased in this gallery are samples of copper art (all high
gauge). And, yes, we do customized bathtubs and copper topped
tables to your size and specifications, including a selection
of wrought iron table bases. And, we also do antique copper
replicas. |
